The other day, I visited a papermaking craftsman's workplace for the first time in a long while.
I believe the last time I visited was before the coronavirus pandemic, about six years ago.
The purpose of this site visit was to prototype a type of handmade Japanese paper.

This is the first expression technique called "sukikomi," in which two or more layers of washi paper are piled up and filtered.
This papermaking process is slightly different from regular handmade washi paper.
I've checked what the expression will be.
The papermaking method is also unusual in that, while the usual method is to pour the paper through a mash, this time we will be pouring the paper through.
The craftsmen responded to our requests by changing the raw materials, paper color, and paper thickness.

This is the skill of the craftsmen who create things through trial and error.
They support our manufacturing and are a very encouraging presence.
This time, we are making a prototype of handmade Japanese paper to be used in interior products.
We will make sure to use it to create our products.
Thank you very much for this opportunity.
